Saugatuck/Douglas prides ourselves in being a one-of-a-kind place for respite, and we want nothing more than for all our wonderful visitors and local residents to remain healthy and happy during these challenging times.

We have cautiously reopened and are committed to providing all guests with a safe and relaxing visit.

Please use this page as your resource for the best local information on travel to and from the Art Coast of Michigan.

General Travel Information

There are currently no bans on leisure travel. Visitors are encouraged to confirm all reservations and travel plans in advance.

Retailers and restaurants have reopened with capacity limits and ask patrons to wear masks and maintain a social distance to help keep staff and guests safe. Many restaurants are offering outdoor seating with pop-up patios in addition to indoor seating. However, with capacity limits of 50%, reservations are strongly advised. A listing of local restaurants with current offerings, hours and reservation availability can be accessed here.

Outdoor recreational areas, such as Oval Beach and the Saugatuck Dunes State Park, are open to the public.

To avoid larger groups from gathering, the following major summer events have been cancelled for this year:
