Who can enter?Anyone and everyone who enjoys a lively, verbal challenge.What is a limerick?A limerick is a humorous, poetic verse, written in five lines, with a specific rhythm and rhyme scheme. Lines 1, 2 & 5 must rhyme with each other and have three strong accents; lines 3 and 4 must rhyme with each other and have two strong accents. Limericks often use work play, eccentric spelling or other witty features. Entries will be judged on structure, content and wit.Samples:A flea and a fly in a flue There was a farmer from Leeds There once was a boy named Earl How do I enter?Write your original limerick and e-mail to staff@saugatuck.com or mail to: Saugatuck/Douglas Convention and Visitors Bureau PO Box 28 Saugatuck, MI. 49453 Be sure to include your name, address, phone, and email with your limerick entry. Deadline for online entries will be Monday, March 15, 2010 at 5 pm EST. Winners will be announced online and via email on Wednesday, March 17, 2010.
