Oktoberfest - Douglas, MI

Oktoberfest - Douglas, MI

The City of Douglas is proud to announce the 11th annual celebration of Oktoberfest. We will begin the traditional ceremonies and parade near the corner of Blue Star and Center Street in Downtown Douglas at 12 noon.

The parade will lead us to Beery Field where a rifle ceremony and alphorn performance will signal the tapping of the keg and food courts and bier tents will open for business.

The event will include Oktoberfest Ale from Saugatuck Brewing Co., Fenn Valley wines, Bratwurst, Frankfurters, Kraut & German Potato from Everyday People Café, German style sweets from Cookies on Call, Miller Lite, and draft root beer from I.H.S. Distributing.

There will be live performances by Ein Prosit, a 35 piece traditional German band, and by the Strudel Meisters, a 12 piece German band.

We'll also have events such as the tapping of the keg and adult keg toss, and activities for children of all ages to enjoy, such as the Root Beer Barrel Roll and Mug Race as well as pumpkin painting for the whole family.

Shirts and beer steins with the official Douglas Oktoberfest coat of arms, as well as traditional German hats, will be made available for sale.

This is the 11th annual Douglas Oktoberfest and will follow the record success of last year's event which served several hundred guests. It is sure to provide a wonderful afternoon and evening for a family event.
