The
Bayside Inn Bed & Breakfast sits at the water's edge in a prominent
location in downtown Saugatuck. This former landmark boathouse and marina was
built in 1927. It was rescued from encroaching waters by Innkeepers Frank and
Kathy Wilson who fell in love with its panoramic views of the river and the
harbor. They set about transforming the ailing building into one of the most
stylish bed & breakfasts in Saugatuck.
Today
this Saugatuck bed & breakfast is a breezy memorable place in the warm
months and a cozy enclave in the winter. There is a sense of extraordinary care
that has gone into the restoration of this building it feels fresh,
immaculate and solid as a rock. The Inn
has six contemporary guest rooms and four suites with fireplaces. All are creatively appointed in sophisticated
and impeccable taste in an intriguing blend of colors some with accents of
moss green, copper, peach and shades of cream and tan. All accommodations include air conditioning,
cable TV, phones, DVDs, DVD library, WIFI and private decks overlooking the
water.
Overnight
guests awaken to the sight of soaring seagulls and the toot of a stern-wheel
paddleboat just outside their sliding glass doors. The Bayside has earned an
enviable reputation for its amazing breakfasts. Sharpened morning appetites are
cared for with a kaleidoscope of seasonal fruits, a litany of hot egg dishes
and sweet breads hearty enough to appease appetites for the rest of the day.
Guests may eat breakfast in the common room. However, coffee always tastes so
much richer while basking in the morning sun on the Inn's master deck
overlooking the river.

Bayside is imbued with a sense of tranquility of being a world removed.
Guests are transported to a peaceful place as ducks glide by their patios,
unjulating with the comforting hypnotic motion of sailboats, kayaks and motor
yachts slipping in and out of the harbor. The stress relief allows guests a
feeling of instant comfort which in turn gives way to instant relaxation.
