A group of independent cottage owners have
banded together into an association known as Saugatuck Area Cottages to offer a
unique blend of Michigan
vacation rentals to those seeking their vacation getaway in the Saugatuck area.
The association members own cottages that
are spaced from downtown Saugatuck to the Lake Michigan
beach. The private properties provide accommodations that range from a romantic
Michigan
travel escape for a couple to the gatherings of larger groups. Guests who
search for a property on the water or very near the waterfront are in luck
because all association properties fit that desire.
The properties come in a variety of styles
and sizes—from a one-bedroom, one-bath cottage to a three-bedroom, 2˝-bath cottage.
Dating from the late 1800s, one historic cottage features all the conveniences
of home—a sun room with wall-to-wall windows on three sides; an entertainment
room with cable TV, VCR, and CD stereo; and a fully furnished kitchen. The
cottage rests in an award-winning landscape, with a large yard shaded by
majestic trees and a sundeck serenaded by the soothing sounds of a pond. An
example of a mid-size property is a cottage located within walking distance to
downtown Saugatuck, and close to the Kalamazoo
River and Lake
Michigan beaches. The two-bedroom, one-bath cottage features a
fully-equipped kitchen and a living room.
A larger cottage provides an open kitchen
that overlooks the living room, equipped with wood-burning fireplace, cable TV,
and VCR/DVD. A formal dining room, bathed in the light from bay windows, and a sun
porch round out the accommodating interior layout. A deck, with a natural gas
grill, juts out into a large inviting yard.
Because association members own the
properties, they take particular pride in presenting ultra-clean and
comfortable surroundings. The owners are forever remodeling and repainting
their rental properties to keep them fresh. Guests at all the cottages especially
appreciate having easy access to the owners in the event a problem arises.
