Swing into Spring
Make your spring getaway one to remember. Shake off the winter blues and experience Saugatuck/Douglas before the summer crowds and sun start really heating things up.
Spring is the time for renewal and rejuvenation, and there’s no better place than Saugatuck/Douglas to usher in the warmth and splendor of the season. Our charming coastal towns have lots to offer by way of outdoor activities that let you appreciate all of nature’s glory.
Enjoy the sunshine on one of our pristine beaches, like Oval Beach. Or spend the day hiking the Saugatuck Harbor Natural Area where you can see the remnants of the historic Fishtown pier, delicate wetlands, and a long, peaceful strip of Lake Michigan.
Play a round of golf at The Ravines Golf Club or Clearbrook Golf Club and then relax to a massage at Massa Body. Charter a sailboat ride through Sweetwater Sailing or take a Full Moon Cruise pontoon boat ride with The Flying Dutchman Adventure Co.
For a unique farm experience, visit Evergreen Lane Farm & Creamery, where you can savor artisan cheeses and visit the frolicking goats. Or enjoy proper farmhouse cider at Virtue Cider and see the heritage breed pigs, sheep, chickens, and ducks that call the farm their home.
In addition to the great outdoors, our area features a number of art galleries and artist studios that give cause for our distinction as the Art Coast of Michigan. For galleries that make the most out of their unique locations, visit the Khnemu Studio located on the 30-acre sustainable Fernwood Farm for one-of-a-kind pottery or Dawn Stafford‘s Peachbelt Studio for original oil paintings exhibited in a rural, historic one-room schoolhouse that is now flanked by beautiful gardens.
No matter what activities you choose to enjoy, spring is an invigorating time of year to spend time in this enchanting area.
