OUTDOORS

Color Your View

When autumn leaves are at the peak of their splendor, here are our top 3 ways to take in the fall colors.

Take a Hike

Experience the magic of a Michigan fall on foot. Hike through the trails of the Saugatuck Dunes State Park and wind your way along sandy beaches, rolling dunes, and a 300-acre natural area. To take in the colors along the lakeshore, walk along our world-renowned Oval Beach and the Saugatuck Harbor Natural Area. Or, for a stunning aerial view, hike up to the top of Mount Baldhead.

Ride Your Bike

Rent a bike and ride along the Beeline Trail which stretches from Saugatuck to Holland or explore the Holland Metro Trails, which interweave throughout Holland and extend into the Saugatuck Dunes State Park.

Hit the Deck

For a more unique way to experience the changing colors of fall, take a cruise on the Star of Saugatuck. This leisurely ride along the Kalamazoo River and into Lake Michigan offers breathtaking views that you can’t see from land.
