Description:
10:00AM - 1:00PM. Saugatuck Center for the Arts.
This offering will be hosted at the Saugatuck Center for the Arts in an open-air classroom (400 Culver St. Saugatuck, MI 49453). Campers should bring a packed lunch.
Using a combination of abstract shapes and geometric forms, illustrator and graphic designer Blake Johnson will help campers explore the fundamental frameworks of character construction. Having considered how color, form, and proportion come together to make imagery familiar, the group will then collaborate on a class mascot and make screen printable stencils to transfer their shared creation onto a t-shirt.
Blake is the primary designer at Silkscreen Marketing in Holland, MI, where he’s also responsible for all incoming orders and customer communication. His interests include sculpting, Instagram film production, and illustration.
All live-instruction camps are dependent on State guidelines. Should the State “dial back” gathering guidelines in the future the SCA will comply. If this should happen, all impacted classes would be cancelled; patrons would receive e-notification and be refunded.
