Description:

This 4 day workshop will explore the basics of sculpting through lost-wax bronze casting. Students will work directly in wax to create a small, sculptural work of art. The works will be invested and burned out in a furnace in preparation for casting in molten bronze. We will work as a group to help set up the foundry, melt the bronze, and pour the works. Through hands-on processes and instructor-led demonstrations, students will learn the finishing techniques and patinas that will bring their bronze sculptures to life.
