ARTE: LATINO Contemporary Latino Art: Creativity Takes Courage

The Saugatuck Douglas Fennville Arts Initiative (SDFAI) is dedicated to bringing the highest quality, innovative, interactive art experiences to diverse audiences in the Art Coast of Michigan.

Eight Latino artists take over the Fennville District Library with an exhibition that brightens the town of Fennville with never before seen contemporary works.

Here is your chance to delve into the world of these artists where they tackle civil rights, immigration and look deeply inside themselves finding a voice of their Latino identity.

The messages cross the language barriers as each piece exhibited sends a visual statement of importance to the artist. It takes time to look for the meaning.  Here is your opportunity. 

The diversity of Latino communities celebrated in this exhibit include artists of Mexican, Puerto Rican, Cuban, Ecuadorian as well as other Latin American groups with deep roots in the United States. 

Whether it be through photography, murals, ceramics or mixed media, the Saugatuck, Douglas, Fennville communities will be rocked by the talented and expressive work of  Latino artists.
