Lake Shore Resort more than lives up to its name by providing a Michigan vacation that promises guests a front row seat to the awesome sights and sounds of Lake Michigan within minutes of downtown Saugatuck/Douglas. The “Lake Shore” is the area’s only motel resort lodging facility overlooking Lake Michigan with private access for the exclusive use of its guests. A majority of the resort’s guests are adults seeking a quiet and relaxing stay on the lake amidst natural surroundings. The resort offers 30 recently renovated rooms that are comfortably furnished with a king bed or 2 full-size beds providing a two-person maximum occupancy. A limited number of rooms have 2 queen beds that will accommodate up to four people over 13 years of age. All rooms include refrigerators, coffeemakers, air conditioning, cable TV, and best of all, large windows for a view of the lake. Continental breakfast is served in the common area and outside on a wrap-around deck overlooking the Lake. The lake views only begin there. Guests can stroll to the water’s edge down a bluff staircase that features three viewing decks as they descend to the Lake Michigan shoreline. Once at the water guests can swim in the surf or make use of complimentary lounge chairs, shade umbrellas, and kayaks. Beach availability and size is dependent on lake levels from year to year. Lake Shore’s list of extras extend beyond the lake focus to include a large heated swimming pool, putting green, bikes for cycling along scenic Lakeshore Drive, and free WIFI. The site’s three acres of beautifully landscaped grounds blend into two miles of private wooded walking trails. At the end of the day, guests can soak up spectacular sunsets over the lake and then cap off the evening in front of flickering flames from lake view gas fire pits.
