On March 23, 2020 Michigan Governor, Gretchen Whitmer issued a statewide executive order for residents to shelter in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Businesses that are “necessary to sustain or protect life” will remain open, while those deemed as non-essential will close. Bars and restaurants will be closed until April 30, although they can maintain carry-out services. All gatherings between people who don’t live in a single household are banned.
