In 1843, Charles Dickens wrote A Christmas Carol to awaken the spirit of Christmas within the frozen heart of old Ebenezer Scrooge (and the hearts of the world). After several ghostly visits (and a few Bah Humbugs) Scrooge is changed and, as Dickens writes it, became a man that “knew how to keep Christmas well, if any man alive possessed the knowledge.” Come “catch” the spirit of Christmas in quaint downtown Saugatuck.
Nestled in the heart of Saugatuck, the historic setting of the Saugatuck Woman's Club gives this theatre production an intimate ambiance. The narrator, actors, musician and crew bring the story alive through their warmth and attention to detail.
The theatrical production is based on the story by Charles Dickens and stars Steve Williford as Ebenezer Scrooge and Bill Muzzillo as narrator. The 2023 cast includes Christopher Aumaugher, Lilliana Aumaugher, Larry Blose, Mckenzie Boyce, Sylvia Engel, Orion Greene, Bodhi Hanna, Russ Johnson, Marin Kierzek, Lila Massing, Daniel Mayer, Erin Molenhouse, Gregory Muncey, Quinton Ramos, Jennifer Rees, and Ron Richardson. Peter Black accompanies the production with festive piano. Maggie Conklin is on the lightboard. Sara Aumaugher and Janice Williford serve as stage support.
Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for students.
